   Can’t these people just admit that a religious system in which God allows his only son to be tortured to death over several days to pay for the sins of everyone else (which sins, he, being omnisicient, presumably designed into them as part of their makeup, as a challenge so they could demonstrate their faith) may have limited appeal to other species who, perhaps, aren’t like humans and don’t need to have their basic instincts subdued by guilt and fear of eternal damnation?
   “Some aliens may even be innocent of the original sin.” MY GOD! But there’s no mention of them anywhere in Genesis?!? Perhaps URGLLHTYSER persuaded IUOKJERW to eat an apple in the fifth dimension and we’re just not aware of it. Oh dear, how can we know? We’ll just have to have faith!!!
   Mind you, it could lead to an interesting communion ceremony “Drink thee of this foul-smelling green ichor, which is my blood, taste of this ethereal, zero-gravity proof epidermis which is my body.”
   The church may have been the repository of all knowledge once, but with pronouncements like that it’s easy to see why they’re not now.
