Right wing Christians call to boycott a film they haven’t seen (and a book they most likely haven’t read), even though gutless Hollywood has watered the book’s themes down. Ignorant conservative Christian sensibilities dictating our culture. AARGHH!

Just read the books, they’re brilliant.

    I haven’t read the Amber Spygass and it has been a long time since I read the first two, but I thought Pullman’s theme was about questioning religious authority. Even the trailer has that snippet about “But that is heresy!” and “That is the truth!” Maybe that’s why the Christians are upset.
